Speed vs Time = Dwell time

Context Sensitive Advertising

The technology is available to create messaging that doesn't waste people's time by showing them inappropriate information or joining in with the ever growing 'comms noise' that we ignore.

If time is crucial to how much information we can absorb, and speed the variable which defines how much time we have when moving in any given space; then time and speed will dictate the appropriate information to display.

Knowledge is power, power buys time and time is money.

Despite the technology being available to tailor communication to the individual this is still uncommon. Using existing technology developed for military purposes in form of the Microsoft Kinect Sensor at a cost of £80 and the open-source Processing software and language I developed an easy-to-use piece of kit which requires only a minimum of computer knowledge to run on a laptop once installed.

Running in Processing existing libraries were used, combined and tweaked to create an app that will run on any configured laptop with a Kinect connected. Skeleton tracking and the Kinect’s depth perception capabilities are used to indentify a person and measure their speed. As a result a message appropriate to their dwell time is played.
